As you turn onto Route 12 from US Highway 89, you shortly come across a formation of red sandstone spires called Red Canyon. In many ways it is similar to the nearby Bryce Canyon, but has it own scenic beauties. There are several short hikes here that are well worth the effort. The visitor center typically opens in April and closes in October.
