Zion National Park is located in southeast Utah. The best known feature is Zion Canyon that is a deep valley cut by the North Fork of the Virgin River through reddish and tan-colored Navajo Sandstone. Zion Canyon is 15 miles long and up to half a mile deep.

I have loved Zion since I first came to live in Springdale Utah (Zion National Park surrounds Springdale on three sides), in 1972 and started hiking the numerous trails and photographing the brilliant colors. Since I returned to this area, I have hiked most of trails in the park and taken thousands of photographs in all seasons. The Zion wilderness areas are hard to get to, but well worth the effort. Here are some of my best. I hope you enjoy these photographs.
